Though he has a preference for sailing, Bob is equally comfortable on power vessels, as well. He can help promote your vessel to sell, or help you locate the boat of your dreams.
Bob began his boating life in the late 1960s when his dad took him, his sister and mother sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. There he first “learned the ropes” of sailing, and why it’s called a boom!
After too many years of not sailing, Bob started again with a Sun Fish, and then a Hunter 27. After a few years, he resigned from the Defense Department in 1998 to start a sailing school. To help achieve that goal, he attended the Professional Mariner Training (PMT) program at Chapman School of Seamanship in Stuart, FL. There he earned a USCG 50 ton Masters license with auxiliary sail, near coastal and towing endorsements, a Marine Radio Operator Permit (MROP), and four American Sailing Association instructor certifications.
Bob kept gradually increasing his boat size until moving onto a Morgan Out Island 41, where he resided for more than six years. Four of those six summers were spent with the Boy Scouts of America High Adventure Sea Base in Islamorada, Florida. As a captain for Sea Base, Bob took youngsters from all across the country on week long sailing adventures, sharing his love of sailing and of the water, with the Scouts.
The rest of the time during those years was spent teaching, relationship coaching, real estate investing and yacht deliveries, neatly woven into cruising the Gulf Coast of Florida.
It is now Bob’s turn to help you find the boat of your dreams, and help you to go Sailing Happily Ever After!
